Summer Reading Lists Kindergarten – 8th Grade
Reading is fundamental to learning. It increases your vocabulary, enriches your mind, and stretches your imagination. Recognizing these factors, Holy Spirit School requires all students entering grades K-8 to complete a summer reading program. In addition to these required texts, we have included a list of optional selections and recommended read-aloud books, which we also encourage you to read. The books are available in paperback at local bookstores, libraries, and on-line.

Save time and money on school supply shopping by ordering your child’s supplies through EPI. Order online by July 1st and your child’s supply kit will be in their classroom the first day of school.

Health Forms
RISING KINDERGARTEN (due by August 1, 2025):
All rising Kindergartners are required to have a current physical (no older than 12 months prior to the first day of school) and a current hearing and vision screening as well as an updated Immunization Record. This information should be recorded on the Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Health Form. The forms should be submitted electronically to the clinic at sforrer@holyspiritflames.org as soon as possible but no later than August 1, 2025.
RISING 7th GRADE (due by June 1, 2025):
All rising Seventh graders are required to submit an updated Immunization Record to include a recent booster dose of the Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine and the first dose of a two-dose series of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine. The immunization record should be submitted electronically to the clinic no later than June 1, 2025.
Rising First through Sixth graders and rising Eighth graders do NOT need to submit documentation of a current Physical Examination and Immunization record to the clinic unless there is a significant change to your child’s health, or we have requested otherwise.
