  • 15 years and older: $30
  • Under 15 years old: $25

*Register by April 1st for an early bird discount of $5 per registrant!

We need course marshals to cheer our runners and direct them along the route. No experience necessary! Please contact Mrs. Sue Gibbons  sgibbons@holyspiritflames.org.

What is the Spirit Run?

The Spirit Run started in 2016 to raise funds to support the Holy Spirit School Resource Program. Each year, rain or shine, families from the school and parish gather together as one community to celebrate a culture of inclusion.

What is the role of the Resource Program?

The Resource Program team includes four full-time licensed resource teachers, two full-time and two part-time paraprofessionals, a certified reading specialist, and the school counselor.  We proudly offer SLP services and social groups through our partnership with Milestone Pediatric Group. The program provides academic support for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Intellectual disabilities, and other special needs, in an academically inclusive Catholic environment. Reading teachers are dedicated to early intervention and provide small group and 1:1 reading instruction for struggling readers.

Why is inclusive education important?

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge has called for a more inclusive community and challenges Catholics to be more inclusive of people with special needs. Holy Spirit School has been a leader in inclusive academic education in our diocese for many years due to our Resource Program’s services.  The grant we receive from Porto Charities and the money we raise from our 5K Spirit Run help us answer the Bishop’s call for inclusion.

What time does the race start?

The race will begin at 8:00 am.  If you have not received your race bib, please allow 45 minutes for the check-in process.

Is the race timed?

Yes, we use Commonwealth Timing Company.

Is the race certified?

No, the course is not a certified 5K race.
