Are you ready?!

2022 Hybrid 5K Spirit Run

May 21, 2022

“In Work There is Dignity”

Dear friends of the 5K Spirit Run,

Thank you, thank you for an amazing 2021 5K Spirit Run! It was a year like no other! It was a hybrid race so we had participants in person and several who ran in their own neighborhoods.  We had 6 different start times to accommodate social distancing, and it was the first year we held the race at Holy Spirit School!  We broke our participation records and had 336 registrants!  We had our Facebook Live start event with inspiring words from Father O’Donohue and a beautiful spring day on a new trail filled with families and friends sharing our Holy Spirit pride after being apart the previous year.

This year will be the 7th annual 5K Spirit Run and although we have enjoyed holding the 5K at our beautiful local parks, we are excited to announce that the 2022 5K Spirit Run will be held at Holy Spirit School inour Parish neighborhood so we are able to keep our expenses lower.  The money we raise each year helps to financially support our Resource Program.  Our growing Resource Team continues to provide academic support for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Intellectual disabilities, and other special needs in an inclusive Catholic environment. Holy Spirit School has been a leader in inclusive education in our diocese for many years due to the services our Resource Program provides. Our Reading Resource services not only provide specific reading intervention but also touch the lives of many students by holding small reading groups for students who have been identified as benefitting from early reading intervention.

The 2022 5K Spirit Run will have an in-person 5k route starting at Holy Spirit School, but you will also be able to participate virtually if you choose. Please keep monitoring the Holy Spirit School webpage and Facebook page as they will be updated regularly as we have updated information to share.

Please consider making a donation, becoming a business sponsor, or volunteering your time. By supporting the 5K Spirit Run you are saying that you support Catholic inclusive education for all students.

Blessings always,

Sue Gibbons, Race Coordinator
