5K Spirit Run – May 15, 2021
It is a HYBRID race this year!
Why We Race
Last year marked the 5th Anniversary of the 5K Spirit Run and the Holy Spirit community stayed strong as we took the race virtual! Thank you to everyone who participated in their neighborhoods and local parks, or on their treadmills and those who sent pictures. We truly are #holyspiritstrong! It was so fun to have a Facebook Live event with Father leading us in prayer and then officially starting the Virtual 5K Spirit Run.
Even though we were not able to gather as a group, the money from race registrations, generous donations, and business sponsors made it a successful fund-raiser. The money we raise each year helps to financially support our Resource Program. Our four-member Resource Team provides academic support for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Intellectual disabilities, and other special needs. Holy Spirit School has been a leader in inclusive education in our diocese for many years due to the services our Resource Program provides. Our Reading Resource component not only supports students identified as needing reading intervention but also regularly assesses students in elementary grades to identify students who may need small group early reading intervention.
This year, due to the uncertainty of COVID restrictions, we are going to hold a Hybrid 5K Spirit Run on May 15, 2021, at Holy Spirit School. We will have an in-person 5k route starting at Holy Spirit School and you will also be able to participate virtually. Please keep monitoring the Holy Spirit School webpage and the race page as they will be updated regularly as we have updated information to share.
